An Introduction: The Helmet Bag was originally designed for American military pilots to secure their helicopter or jet helmet, maps and flight gloves.
Over the years we've sold hundreds of these bags at KAUFMAN’S Army & Navy, our retail store on West 42nd Street in New York City and we listened carefully to our customers’ comments and suggestions. Based on all we learned, we set out to improve upon Uncle Sam’s original design.
For those who enjoy the functionality of the original design, but who carry a laptop or tablet along with other personal items instead of a pilot’s helmet, we shaved 4” off its height for easy access, added multiple inside pockets for a cell phone and glasses, a large rear zipper compartment extending the full width of the bag and a detachable shoulder strap.
Additional features include:
Durable water-resistant material on the outside and soft padded cushioning inside to help safeguard your valuables, easy-glide nylon zippers with 2” nylon pull tabs, soft padded carry handles, gently distressed metal fittings, an inside metal key ring and exceptional sewing throughout.
All these improvements were added while carefully retaining the Helmet Bag's original distinctive military appearance.
