These ammo pouches date back to the Cold War period (late 1950s to 1960s) when Czechoslovakia was a member state of the communist Warsaw Pact allied with the Soviet Union.
In 1992, the country peacefully dissolved itself to form two separate republics- the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The pouch is constructed of brown pigskin with a leather tab closure, designed to hold four 30 round magazines for the VZ 58 rifle.
