Although Mr. Kaufman has absolutely no idea what these were originally designed for, one thing is certain- Kaufman’s supplied them to the Broadway production of Wicked in New York City, and none other than the Wizard of Oz himself wears them in the show!

Whatever they are, they’re genuine military issue, not a reproduction.
