ATTENTION: ALL Container Collectors!
This exceptionally well-designed two-piece sterilizer unit originally consisted of an alcohol burner encapsulated inside this metal fold out container. It enabled a U.S. Army Veterinarian officer in the U.S. Cavalry, which was mostly disbanded by 1940, a practical way to sterilize a needle prior to suturing a horse out in the field.
The needles were conveniently stored in the round tray attached to the inside top portion of the container, directly beneath the lid, which snaps firmly shut with a distinct click.
Stamped USA MD (U.S. Army Medical Department) on the base of the container.
Measures: 2 5/8" tall x 1 3/4" wide x 1" deep
Container only.
Grade I: Unissued, mint condition, scratch-free and spotless!
